Abstract
The paper presents the discrete modeling and simulation part of a general purpose modeling and simulation of combined (hybrid) systems. The main deviation from other simulator products is that TOOMS (Turbo Object Oriented Modeling and Simulation) provides the user with the ability to divide the larger system into modules and build models for each module. Besides providing the necessary modeling options and tools, the synchronization and cooperation between modules (which is quite often in the real world) is procedurally preprogrammed. This brings back the modeling task to its natural landmark, namely designing rather than explicit programming.
