Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to describe the potential impacts and challenges to electricity industry under the proposed Revised Electricity Law In Taiwan. This paper describes first the development of electricity industry In Taiwan. It then discusses the key proposed changes of the Law are discussed with respect to the potential impacts to large customers, cogeneration companies, independent power producers, and Taiwan Power Company. Under the proposed Revised Electricity Law, all major participants in the electricity market will face dramatic changes. Thus, it is important to create a cooperative and productive environment to allow all parties to effectively respond to these new challenges.
