  • Abstract
The digital relay has not only many advantages and strong points, but also some weak points. This paper describes some experiences from ten years application of digital relay in Korea. New requirements for the relay are also introduced in order to minimize weak points and to enforce performances. Trends of substation automation and difficulties in application are presented. Technical recommendations for the up-graded substation automation for the future are introduced.
