Abstract :
In this paper, a programmable cellular automata (PCA) based reconfigurable architecture is proposed for both symmetric-key and public-key cryptosystems. Through simple configurations, the PCA-based architecture can be reconfigured to different applications. It increases the user´s flexibility of security schemes and reduces the user´s cost. The proposed reconfigurable architecture has a regular structure and is very suitable for high speed VLSI implementation.
