Abstract :
Query localization is a previously proposed extension for on-demand routing protocols, which reduces the overhead of route discovery. It how been found effective for DSR. However, for distributed protocols like AODV, numerous issues, need to be examined. This paper focuses on strategies for implementing query localization in AODV by using caches to maintain recent routing history in a distributed fashion. We also present results of simulations that justify adding query localization to AODV.
