Abstract
Explosive growth of Internet traffic and the convergence of telecommunication, Internet and broadcast networks and services are causing huge demand on bandwidth. DWDM networks are the only solution, which can cater to this ever-increasing bandwidth demand This paper presents developments and advances in some of the key components and technologies which are enabling the DWDM based optical transport network of the future.
