Abstract
A novel data recording system based on disk array is designed to satisfy the demand of high-speed sustained data recording in many real-time fields. When the scale of the disk array increases to satisfy the higher recording speed and larger capacity, the system reliability will be worse, even in the traditional parity group (TPG) scheme. In order to record data correctly and reliably, two new schemes named floating parity group (FPG) and full 2D-parity group (full 2D-PG) are proposed to improve the system reliability. The analysis shows that the system reliability in these two new schemes is much higher than that of the traditional scheme.
