Abstract :
In a cluster video server system, an important topic is how to store multimedia data on many storage nodes. This topic includes two issues: a scheme for splitting an entire file into many clips, and how to store these clips on many nodes. Our paper focuses on the first issue and proposes a new file splitting scheme. This scheme has universality for almost every media format and makes cluster video servers work efficiently. The scheme is feasible and easy to implement.
