Abstract :
The performances of two kinds of OXC (optical cross connect): share-per-link OXC and share-per-node OXC, are compared in this paper. A heuristic algorithm is proposed to decide how many wavelength converters are equipped in the share-per-node OXC. Then through unequally distributing the wavelength converters in different links of the share-per-link OXC, the performance of share-per-link OXC is under study, by simulation in three networks, the result shows that it is better than that of share-per-link OXC whose wavelength converters are equally distributed in each link, and it is the same as that of share-per-node OXC in some nodes.
