Abstract
TD-SCDMA is one of the air interfaces selected in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project for 3rd generation mobile radio systems (3G systems). In TD-SCDMA, the most important characteristic is the intelligent antenna array (smart antenna). A directional channel model for consideration of the intelligent antenna array is developed. Then, based on this model, an algorithm for the intelligent antenna array is researched. The benefits achievable by an intelligent antenna array in the TD-SCDMA uplink is demonstrated.
