Abstract :
Image segmentation is a fundamental problem in the fields of image processing and computer vision with numerous applications. In this paper, an integral equation model applied in image segmentation is addressed. We discuss the links between Mumford-Shah´s (M-S energy) and image segmentation. We develop a feasible algorithm for the variational problem in dimension one and then extend it to dimension two (image). A few experimental results in dimension one and two are displayed.
