Abstract
In this paper, the structure and characteristics of timed DPN (differential Petri nets) are analyzed. According to the issues that are required to be solved in power system analysis, the continuous parts of the power system are modeled by using the special features of DPN. Thus, the discrete and continuous parts of the power system can be described in the same analysis and modeling tool. From the modeling of an OMIB system, it can be shown that DPN is a kind of effective analysis tool for the modeling of the power system.
