Abstract
In this paper we present an infinite dimensional dynamic model for perforated track electrodynamic magnetic levitation. We analyze the model properties, and explain the inadequacy of finite dimensional models. It is shown that active control of levitation damping can be perceived as a boundary value control problem, and that minimization of electromagnetic drag is an optimal control problem.
