Abstract :
In this paper, the impedance mismatch effect of the low-noise amplifier (LNA) on a homodyne receiver noise figure (NIT) is investigated. An approximation is derived for determining receiver noise subject to LNA mismatch effect alone. The proposed method facilitates the planning of modern receiver. In order to validate this method usefulness, a homodyne receiver example for WLAN IEEE 802.11b is simulated and the obtained results demonstrate good agreement between theory and simulation.
