Abstract :
This paper describes a kind of Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) technique through introducing a linear average concept, which can be used to handle curved dielectric surfaces. Unlike the existing conformal techniques, the new approach makes use of the information on the edges of the cell to devise a field update algorithm, bypassing the area and volume calculations. The technique is validated by a test example and the results show good agreement with those reported in the published papers.
