Abstract :
In this paper, the silkworm´s growth rate and leaf´s area were monitored using image processing techniques. The average width and average length of silk worms were automatically measured in real time. Moreover, the area of green leaves was also measured in order to monitor the amount of food supply for silkworms. The experimental results show that the measurement error is less than 4%. This promising scheme is aimed for the automatic silkworm farming industry in the near future.
