Abstract
NiC eutectic point (approximately 1329°C) is studied as a fixed point for the calibration of Pt/Pd thermocouples that have useful measuring temperature up to 1500°C. It is found that reproducibility in the temperature of Melting Plateau is 0.1°C and that that of Freezing Plateau is 0.1°C.
