Abstract :
The driving safety support systems (DSSS) is an intelligent system that can enhance safety in car traffics and prevent traffic accidents by coordinating a highly advanced traffic management system and intelligent vehicles. This system is one of important subsystems within the universal traffic management system currently being developed by National. Police Agency of Japan and Universal Traffic Management Society of Japan. The verification tests are almost finished now, and standard specifications for practical operation are being developed. This paper reports a series of DSSS research and development works, as well as the future DSSS development plans.
