Abstract :
Problems on the identification of two-dimensional domains arising in the detection of material damage are considered. For electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation systems, observations of the magnetic flux are used in a output least-square approach. Parameter estimation techniques based on the method of mappings are discussed. Approximation schemes are developed applying the finite-element Galerkin approach and numerical experiments are demonstrated.
