Abstract :
This paper studies the statistical properties of the conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm. Analytical expressions describing the mathematic expectation and the variance are derived for both the integer and the fractional frequency offset estimation algorithms. The theoretical equations presented in this paper provide improved agreement with simulation results in comparison to those previously reported in the literature.
