Abstract
This paper focuses on recent trials to control the Power-Factor-Correction (PFC) converter stability. New unstable phenomena detected in the regions predicted to be stable by the previous linear model force the research towards nonlinear analysis. The underlying technique can significantly facilitate the real operation of the PFC converter. A simple criterion is developed to judge the PFC converter stability, This criterion is designed so that we can automatically judge the PFC system with selected parameters to be stable or unstable from transient data.
