Abstract :
This paper presents a general analysis of the 3rd-order nonlinearity of a single-ended and differential common-emitter (CE) radio frequency (RF) amplifier. With direct computation of the third-order nonlinear response, a closed-form expression was derived. The results suggested several novel ways to cancel the third-order nonlinearity without affecting the in-band Noise Figure of the amplifier.
