Abstract :
A low power, low voltage OTA-C sinusoidal oscillator based on a class AB linear transconductor is proposed. For a tuning voltage range from 5 mV to 500 mV, the oscillation frequency changes more than two decades (from 200 kHz to 21.5 MHz). The amplitude is controlled by the transconductor nonlinear characteristic. The circuit operates at a 2 V supply voltage with only 1.52 mW of maximum quiescent power consumption. The oscillator has been laid out using a 0.8 μm CMOS technology.
