Abstract :
Growing electrical load demands in the aircraft industry has resulted in an increase of DC voltage levels. As a consequence, new technologies like the solid state power controller (SSPC) have been introduced that both connect loads to the main electrical bus and protect the electrical installations from overloads and short circuits. In order to analyze the infuence of these new protection devices on the onboard power distribution system (PDS) and to predict either failures or malfunctions, models of SSPC have to be developed. This article presents and analyses a behavioral model for SSPC.
