  • Abstract
    This paper discusses digital compensation for frequency dependent transfer characteristics and errors in digital PAM/CPFSK (Pulse Amplitude Modulation/Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying) quadrature modulators. A digital compensation method is proposed here using two adaptive FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters to compensate for the magnitude and phase characteristics of the reconstruction filters in the quadrature modulator. The simulation results show that this technique is simple, efficient, and leads to substantial improvement of signal quality.
