Abstract :
A window-gate for the echo-canceller (EC) of discrete multitone (DMT) asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) system is presented. This modification can significantly improve the convergence speed of the EC in the startup training procedure as well as the re-synchronization in splitterless operation. Characteristics of splitterless ADSL channel are also analyzed.
