Abstract
An efficient and distortionless scheme to reduce peak power of OFDM signal is presented, which introduces some additional complexity but achieves markedly improved statistics of the OFDM signal. The approach is very flexible and can work with arbitrary number of subcarriers without restriction on the type of modulation applied in them. We adopt two steps to decrease high PAPR of OFDM signal. The first step is to decrease the number of subcarriers sent to IFFT. The core of the second one is to make the unexpected high peak value under threshold by multiplying the peak with coefficient.
