Abstract
This paper presents an optimization procedure for selecting the best controller gain for an adaptive optics system. The procedure uses an ARX identification of the open loop atmospheric data to model the atmospheric effects and sensor noise. The closed loop system incorporates the adaptive optics system dynamics, the identified atmosphere model and the controller. The gain is found using a parameter optimization of the closed loop system performance.
