Abstract
A new approach is developed to conduct status quo analysis within the paradigm of the graph model for conflict resolution. An algorithm is formulated to generate a diagram starting from the status quo state to characterize possible moves and countermoves by the decision-makers as they move the conflict towards a desirable state. To present the result to users more clearly, another algorithm is developed to generate a table based on the diagram. An illustrative environmental conflict model is employed to demonstrate how these algorithms can be applied in practice and what significant insights can be garnered from the status quo analysis.
