Abstract :
The radiation characteristics of a new microstrip electrically controllable traveling-wave antenna are investigated, theoretically and experimentally. The substrate of this antenna is made using ceramic-polymer composite. Ceramic-polymer composite with modified ferroelectric powder Ba0.65Sr0.35TiO3 and appropriate polymer have been synthesized and investigated. A time-domain method for microwave measurements of ceramic-polymer material parameters has been developed. The feasibility of dielectric scanning (changing the direction of the beam by varying the relative permittivity of the electrically controlled ceramic-polymer composite) is investigated. It shows that the beam angle changes are over 30°.
