Abstract :
This paper discusses some of the major e-Science projects conducted at the University of Nottingham with particular focus on the novel requirements that they impose (and aim to support) on the collaboration and network layer of the newly emerging grid infrastructure. The paper identifies some of the major research challenges needed to be addresses for the optimisation of these two grid layers in order to support efficient scientific collaboration.
