Abstract
The paper presents a brief review of the major trends in high frequency electrodynamics for recent years. It gives a list of the new ideas and methods which were introduced then, and sketches the principal problems that appeared, namely, complex and associated waves in waveguides, the two-plain-mirror high quality resonator and spectral theory of open resonators.
