Abstract :
Due to the analogy between the lossless transmission line and the rectangular potential well (RQW), proved by the Complex-Valued Equivalent Circuit Method - CVEC, RQW may be utilized in the design of the repeater impedance circuit and the inversion impedance circuit for the particularly frequencies from terahertz range. The behavior of these circuits is studied by direct calculation of the input impedances and by using Smith diagram representation of the normalized input impedances. It was found that we could obtain the repeater impedance circuit and the inversion impedance circuit for many frequencies in terahertz range, through the simple change of the thickness of the rectangular potential well. These results can provide a new method to obtain the previous circuits in terahertz range, using GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells.
