Abstract :
This study characterizes and simulates signal propagation through the physical layers of the data vortex switching fabric. Instead of relying on physical analyses, the essence of signal distortions is captured and modeling is performed from a signal-level phenomenological perspective. The model is constructed by collecting experimental data from a number of actual data vortex switching nodes using optical packets with 10 Gbit/sec payloads.
