Abstract :
Gain-clamped Raman amplifier chains are studied under channel add/drop in large-bandwidth WDM metro-core networks. Simulations assess the impact of power oscillations which take place in long gain-clamped amplifier chains. Benefits of over-clamping techniques are quantified.
