Abstract :
This paper describes a wind turbine generator system for supplying power to a small-scale radio base station on a small island. We studied the system´s characteristics by simulation for Yonaguni Island, where the wind speed is over 4.0 m/s throughout the year, and the annual average wind speed is about 7.0 m/s. We found that the base station equipment needs generator output power of 3.71 kW and a 76.5 kWh storage battery for a system operation rate of 99.95%, that system stop time of 4.38 hour during the year.
