Abstract :
In this work we present experimental data that demonstrates mode-locked operation of Yb:KYW solid state laser by using a QD structure combined with a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) as a saturable absorber mirror. We also demonstrate here, a fast recovery time in this QD waveguide structure as measured using the pump-probe technique.
