Abstract
2nd-order DFB/DBR devices with central π (grating) phaseshift provide orthonormal, single-lobe operation. Resonant antiguided (i.e. ROW) arrays provide watts of diffraction-limited power. In this paper it is shown that grating placement only in the ROW-array elements causes stable, single-lobe operation from a 2-D surface emitter (SE).
