  • Abstract
    In this paper, we show experimentally and by simulations that the combination of polarisation dependent loss (PDL) and saturation of erbium doped fibre amplifiers (EDFA) in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system causes the power transfer among channels, resulting in a large signal power variation for each channel.
