Abstract
The protective coatings on metals are meant to prevent erosion and corrosion. Sometimes these coatings are stripped off for recoating. The conventional form of stripping usually leads to atmospheric pollution and contamination either in the form of dust or in the form of chemical hazards. A process has been developed by the authors using various energy gradients facilitating easy peeling off of coatings devoid of abrasion of the base metals. The gradient of different form of energy has been compared. The optimum value for obtaining best possible result has been determined.
