Abstract
The present work had the following goals: determining in a simplified way, the electrical service prices in the buses of 765 and 400 kV of the electric power system, according to the indicated in the electrical service law of Venezuela, and later determining the costs for congestion of the transmission system. To carry out the analysis several scenarios of generation, demand and grid topology have been evaluated, showing the most representative in this article. The result analysis, allows to determine as the topology of the Venezuelan electrical system, that is, the transmission network and generators location, brings problems of congestion as consequence and for that reason, high prices for some nodes in the system. On base of the developed model, several options were evaluated to mitigate the congestion problems in the transmission system through new infrastructure, with the goal of obtaining a favorable cost / worth relation for the system in general.
