  • Abstract
    Process planning involves wide application domain, enormous information and knowledge. The systematic representation of process knowledge and the foundation of process knowledge base are not only the basic of CAPP (computer aided process planning) intelligence, but also have great importance to intelligent manufacturing and advanced manufacturing. Based on the development of a CAPP system (CAPP framework) supported by 863/CIMS in China, object-oriented modeling technology and systematic analyzing of process knowledge, object-oriented process knowledge representation and process knowledge acquisition are described in detail.
