Abstract
Meta-information is a compact description of a distributed information system or its subsystems, and meta-information mechanism is an effective means to extend traditional rough set methods to distributed data environment. Object manipulation operations, e.g. deletion, insertion, and update, may happen to the information system. The meta-information of information system may be changed by these operations and need to be maintained in time. The methods for meta-information maintenance are proposed in this paper. The meta-information can be maintained dynamically to keep consistency with the underlying data of information system, which strongly enhance the practicability of meta-information mechanism.
