Abstract :
In order to improve the reasoning ability of rough sets, this paper generalizes the Pawlark´s rough set model to the fuzzy environment. Fuzzy indiscernibility relation is proposed in this paper to replace Pawlark´s underlining indiscernibility relation. A number of fundamental concepts of Pawlark´s rough set theory such as the kernel and reduct are extended. Furthermore, this paper proposes the fuzzy discernibility matrix. Based on this matrix, a fast and simple approach to obtaining the fuzzy kernel and reduct is given.
