Abstract :
The existence of multiple subsystems complicates connection admission in next generation wireless systems (NGWS) while providing alternatives. The accessibility of the subsystems at the time of connection or handoff request plays a key role in connection admission. In this paper, we propose a connection admission control scheme that selects the subsystem for connection establishment and handoff in NGWS. We also give an analytical model of the connection admission problem in NGWS. Accessibility of the subsystems, availability of the resources, service class, and user preferences are considered while determining the subsystem over which the connection will be setup.
