  • Abstract
TM surface waves on an interface between semiconductors, ferrites or artificial dielectrics are considered. The normalised phase coefficient, β/k0, is calculated for a range of values for the two media, first with (εr1 = 1, μr1 = 1) and then with (εr1 = 1, μr1 = -1) assuming -5 < μr2r1 < 5, -5 < εr2r1 < 0. This range of parameters includes some "double negative" cases for the second medium. Dispersion diagrams are presented for the case where region I is an artificial magnetic dielectric and region 2 is a semiconductor plasma. The results have implications for the design of miniature passive components.
