Title :
GROW: a new resource for teaching and learning
Author_Institution :
Arizona Univ., Tucson, AZ, USA
Abstract :
Using three core areas of civil engineering as an information base, the geotechnical, rock and water resources digital library (GROW) promotes wide-spread access to an envisioned larger collection of quality civil engineering information and resources that will provide the knowledge base to make citizens more informed about their built-environment. A unique focus of the collection is the attention paid to creating and identifying highly interactive resources that allow the user to engage in active learning of civil engineering systems and concepts. This learning is further supported by the abundant collection of additional materials harvested and reviewed for the digital library collection.
