  • Abstract
Michigan Tech´s senior design is a yearlong six-semester credit set of courses. In the first semester there are two courses, a one-credit methods class and two credits of project work. The second semester has a single three-credit class for project work. The students are divided into groups of 4-6 individuals and each group works on a separate project. The projects are solicited from external sponsors. They are asked to supply a grant of $5,000 and an engineer´s time to act as a liaison between the sponsor and the design team. Many of the projects completed have been very educational, pushing the students to excel.
