Abstract
The third in a series, this paper covers operational aspects of applications in which batteries are repeatedly discharged (cycled), and compares this type of operation with applications in which batteries are maintained on standby in a fully charged condition, and discharged only occasionally. Also discussed are the requirements for power and energy in these applications and the differences in sizing procedures between cycling and standby operation.
