Abstract :
Accurate models for stability analysis are fundamental to have confidence in simulation results and, therefore, to the precise definition of transfer limits and other operational constraints of the power system. This paper discusses the current needs of the industry related to the determination of accurate dynamic models and presents a summary of existing methodologies to obtain such models from equipment testing. The paper also proposes an affordable and flexible methodology, combining on-line measurements of operation conditions, identification of disturbances and automatic parameter estimation that could be applied to any power plant.
